When I first met Alice, she was a sweet and energetic little puppy. Her owner, Bryan, was determined to help her grow into a confident and well-socialised dog, and together we embarked on a four-month journey of training and growth.
Alice started with my 4-week Puppy Course, laying a foundation of basic skills and positive associations. From there, she progressed to 15 weeks of dedicated training walks, with a key focus on socialisation. Early on, it was clear that Alice had some big challenges to overcome. Loud noises, particularly from large vehicles, left her anxious, and she was unsure about cyclists and other dogs we encountered on walks.
Week by week, Alice made incredible strides. By the end of our time together, she was walking confidently along busy roads, unfazed by the sounds of passing traffic. She had mastered on-lead walking, maintaining perfect pace even alongside Bryan’s mobility scooter. Alice now navigates her environment with ease, calmly passing people, children, and dogs, and she’s happy to say a friendly hello if someone approaches.
Seeing Alice’s transformation has been so rewarding. Saying goodbye was bittersweet, but I couldn’t be prouder of the mature, self-assured little dog she’s become. Her progress is a testament to the power of patience, consistency, and teamwork. Way to go, Alice ad Bryan!
